• Mac + 3840x2160 160Hz: near-center vertical split, one half gray or gamma-shifted
• 120Hz and 144Hz: stable
• monitor reboot, cable hot-plugging, and alternate Mac port: no recovery
• Mac reboot: recovers the display

Status:

• unresolved failure case
• current workaround: 144Hz
• kept as a record so future users can avoid repeating low-yield tests
