This FAQ entry about keeping track of the position in a stream suggests to use an external data store to persist cursors between client restarts, and also says a managed API is being developed.

Is the high level Subscriptions API same as the managed API mentioned above? If yes, I think the FAQ entry should be updated accordingly.
