Do you have this issue only when the app is running? If so, do you have any image adjustments present (especially contrast) which generally elevates black? |

Its not only when the app is running, the auto brightness seems to fix the issues tho, guess its just a macos 26.2 issue then and the only fix is just to use auto brightness and adjust the max nits to reach 1000 (i adjusted to 1499 nits to use with auto brightness). Hope they fix this in 26.3. |

Oh, ok. Interestingly I did not notice this issue with 26.2 or 26.3, but sure, Tahoe have some brightness control weirdness going on. The 26.3 update again tweaks things big way. |

There is currently an issue with dimming zones when not using the auto brightness function in betterdisplay that the darkest areas on the screen dont close the minileds completely instead it looks just like a regular led display, not sure if it's an macos 26.2.1 issue or something is wrong with betterdisplay .
To best replicate this you should use the solid color wallpaper - black - and leave it without auto brightness and it'll trigger the dimming zones to light up for no reason instead of staying shut.
