You seem to be mirroring from the iPad to the virtual screen what you are then trying to streami back to the iPad - this will certainly not work. Try to follow this: https://github.com/waydabber/BetterDisplay/wiki/Rotated-Sidecar |

I have a Mac Mini M4 on macOS Tahoe with a main monitor. I’m using my iPad 6th Gen in Sidecar mode. Sidecar only supports landscape view, so I installed BetterDisplay to enable portrait mode. I’ve been clicking around BetterDisplay and trying all kinds of configurations, with no luck at all. I created a new Virtual Display (I selected “iPad 4:3” from the dropdown list), and then streamed the virtual display to my iPad, but it still shows up horizontally. And when I select “Rotated orientation”, the iPad turns black. What am I doing wrong? I wish someone uploaded a simple and short step-by-step guide on how to set the settings to make this work. Any help is welcome. Thank you.
UPDATE!!
After an hour of frustration and just facing a black screen, I gave up. I went into the BetterDisplay and randomly toggled off my iPad display, when it started working! I am not even exactly sure what I clicked tbh. Now I am scared that whatever setting it’s set to now, which works, will be lost and I’ll have to puzzle it out for another hour the next time I restart my Mac. So any help or guidance is STILL WELCOME!!
