Hi there, by resetting the TV you mean a full reset using the TV's OSD? There is an updated v4.1.2 pre-release available with improved connection stability (auto-reconnect), but this problem (requiring a full TV reset using it's OSD? - which seems harsh) might be something else - did not encounter anything like this so far. I recommend upgrading to v4.1.2 and starting the app from Terminal with logging and see what is happening with the connection. Maybe this provides some extra insight.

Hi waydabber, Somehow I did not receive any notifications when you replied so I didn't check on this. But yes, by resetting the TV I mean a full reset from the TV's OSD which allows me to reconnect the IP thru the Better Display webOS controller so it can connect. The 4th reset I did after posting the above issue has lasted me this past week, but now it is unable to connect again. Using the terminal method you suggest above, here is what comes up: io/AppleT600xIO/dispext1@8B000000/AppleCLCD2"), infoDictionaryVendorNumber: Optional(7789), infoDictionaryModelNumber: Optional(33741), infoDictionarySerial: Optional(16843009), edidProductName: Optional("LG TV SSCR2"), edidData: Optional("AP///////wAebc2DAQEBAQEjAQSloFp4Cu6Ro1RMmSYPUFShCAAxQEVAYUBxQIGA0cABAQEBWE0AuKE4FED4LEUAIFIxAAAez8sAgPVAOmAgoDpQIFIxAAAcAAAA/QAYeB7/dwAKICAgICAgAAAA/ABMRyBUViBTU0NSMgogAYACA2fxXmFgdnVmZdvaEB8EEwUUAwISICEiFV1eX2JaZD9AXCwJVwcVB1BXBwFnBAduAwwAEAC4RCwAgAECAwRt2F3EAXiAa0MoeNMzBeIAz+MFwADjBg0B4g//6wFG0ABIAn6KWG2VAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYQ=="), portID: Optional(0)) The LGWebOSController network error just keeps looping -- I'm assuming it keeps trying to reconnect. EDIT: Okay, so I re-checked my TV's IP address and it changed to new numbers -- after putting in the correct TV IP into the LG WebController I was able to connect/pair successfully again. Is that normal for the TV to change IP after some time? I think this has something to do with it. And if I remember correctly, the TV's IP address did change in this similar fashion in the past as well, but when I put in the updated IP address, the LG WebController is still unable to connect -- hence why I kept resetting the TV. |

You should either assign a fixed IP for the TV in your home router or simply on the TV's UI (outside of the DHCP range) - that should solve this problem. |

Is there something I am doing wrong that is causing the LG WebOS controller lose connection?
M1 Pro Macbook 14in
LG C5 42" (Quick start+ on, Wake on Lan On, SIMLINK CEC on, etc.)
I have tried resetting my TV 3 times now over the past 3 weeks, each new time, it will pair successfully to the LG WebOs controller -- providing me full volume control for the TV using keyboard and brightness (which works either way even without the LS WebOS). However, at random times (I cannot pinpoint when) when it does disconnect, I cannot pair it back up and reconnect. The connection status will keep trying but never connect and nothing else will appear on the tv to re-establish the connection (probably because it is not a new pairing).
Is there any way to re-establish the connection without resetting the TV again?
Nothing works other than resetting the TV and establishing a new connection for it to only work temporarily before disconnecting.
