Hi - this is a common issue with the M4 and ultrawides. I recommend reviewing this forum about the issue: https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/5k2k-at-120hz-with-mac-mini-m4.2441289/ |

Hi,
I was using BetterDisplay for a long time and it was perfect but now with my new Mac I cannot set up the same resolution.
My old setup:
MacBook Pro M2 Pro
Ext. display: LG Ultrawide 40WP95CPW
Connection through thunderbolt cable
The latest BetterDisplay
I had HiDPI possible at 3840x1620 which was optimal.
Now I just changed the computer in the setup, display and cable is the same.
New setup
Mac Studio M4 Max
Ext. display: LG Ultrawide 40WP95CPW
Connection through same thunderbolt cable
The latest BetterDisplay
I have HiDPI only possible at 3360x1418 and it is too big, or native 5120x2160 and it is too small.
My question - why? What I am doing differently that I cannot set up the external display the same way?
