Edge line smooth granularity setting menu don't work

Summary
Reset or changing the edge line thickness via the menu in preference doesn't work.
After changing the thickness using the slider and reloading, a black screen appears (but this may be a problem with my system).
This can be resolved by changing the window from full screen to partial screen and back again.
