Can't download ffcreator using npm when visual studio is not installed

npm installation can only be performed normally in an environment where Visual Studio 2017 or higher is installed. This appears to be due to the internally included node-gyp module. If the 'Desktop Development with C++' workload is not installed, is it impossible to use FFCreator?
