Support image optimization for remote media libraries

The storage concern of Git repositories doesn't usually extend to object storage but the bandwidth costs for end users are still applicable. It would be nice to be able to use an S3-like service without needing to put an image transformation proxy in front.

Having a client-side image resizing/image optimization support (maybe something WebAssembly based) would be an awesome feature even for simple/small github-based sites/blogs...

We already have it. The request is to enable the optimization for external media storage providers.
