How to use a custom version of Metals in VS Code

How do I tell VS Code Metals to use my version of the language server (installed via Coursier with --only-prebuilt=true)?
I searched a little bit online, but it seems like any options regarding pointing VS Code at a specific binary of Metals is removed?

I don't think we had that option before, but it should be possible to add. What is your use case here? Why not use the version of Metals downloaded by the plugin?
