Brave Origin Nightly on Windows, first public release.
What this is
Brave's minimalist Origin build is currently Linux-only. This ships it to Windows users inside a managed WSL2 distro, wrapped in a dark tabbed webview with live logs, in-app terminal, and one-click updates. Free, portable, zero installer.
Install
- Download Brave.zip (below, ~29 MB)
- Right-click → Extract All
- Double-click
Brave.exe
First launch: ~5 min (one-time Ubuntu + Brave install). Every run after: ~10 seconds.
Downloads
Brave.zip(recommended) — complete portable package, extract and runBrave.exe— launcher binary only (~616 KB), for replacing the .exe in an existing install
Requirements
- Windows 10 (2004+) or Windows 11
- WSL2 installed (
wsl --install) - WebView2 Runtime (preinstalled on Win11)
- ~1.5 GB free disk space
- Internet on first launch only
