Ubuntu support?

Is support for Ubuntu planned? Due to numerous problems with Debian and especialky totally outdated Docker packages, Ubuntu is a highly viable alternative on Rpi 4 and 5's where the larger RAM supports thos container-heavy use cases, not least devcontainers.

However, Ubuntu is a good alternative, you should use the official docker installer (the "Convenience script"), not the included version in the debian repo(s)!

So, you should use the official Raspberry Pi OS (trixie), AND the docker install script, so you would be using the best of both worlds.

However, broadening this function's/config's/package's target scope (instead of "only" Debian, Ubuntu should be usable as a base OS) is a good direction. But, IMHO, just after it works good enough on Debian...

I totally agree on using Docker CE packages, but I know of enough situations where things like company guidelines come in. I've also wasted hours of company time on Debian where doing the same on Ubuntu worked right from the start, but simply wasn't workable with recent Debian packages. RPi OS caused even more friction in the past, because of a, let's call it different mindset there, with funny ideas about leaving out essential kernel modules.
