Raspberry 5 (and iPadOS)

In order to work with a Raspberry Pi5 and iPadOS 26 i needed to add the following in order that that Ethernet device shows up:

sudo nano /boot/firmware/cmdline.txt
Add to the end of the single line (with a space before it):
modules-load=dwc2,g_ether

@Atair1 can you share how you managed to connect your pi to an ipad? Does network passthrough work as expected? My pi shows up as ethernet connection on the iPad, but I can't ssh to it.

a few questions:

• what IP does it give you?
• Raspberry pi 4 or 5?

  I wrote down some more of my experiences there.. at the end i switched to the pi4 as the ipad cant supply enough power.

what worked at the end reliably was pi4 + realvnc viewer + x11 but it was a bit slow, so i changed it:
Currently i have 'Jump' (ipad app), wayvnc and wayland - that gives me about 30fps and sometimes even more
