Disable notifications for scripts running in background

I am not quite sure since when (4.4.X ?) but for a while now we receive notifications for custom_scripts that run in the background. We use some scripts that run e.g. on updates on IP addresses. The shere number of notifications renders this feature useless. And errors can always be found in the Jobs tab for the script.
I would be grateful if there were a config setting that would allow me to turn this off.

This would keep the number of notifications small and hence more useful.

I just got through clearing out 6772 notifications, of which there were 5 failures and 12 errors that got completely lost in the noise. The issue seems to not just be with background jobs, but also scripts run through the UI. It looks like even when I kick off a script from the UI, keep it in the foreground, and view the results, it still generates a notification, which is completely useless. I know that flow could be difficult for the application to track consistently, but it seems like it could at least automatically deletes the notification when you view the script results. For scripts that run from an event rule, I only care about them if they have failed or errored, so an option to only notify on that would be great.
