Keyboard shortcut next and previous secondary subtitle file #17693

Description

Expected behavior of the wanted feature

For the normal subtitles, these shortcuts exist:

  • Next subtitle file J
  • Previous subtitle file Shift+J

But for the secondary subtitles, there are not yet keyboard shortcuts to go to the next and previous subtitle file.

The keys left and right of J on the keyboard are not yet used. I would like to propose:

  • Next secondary subtitle file K
  • Previous secondary subtitle file Shift+K

or alternatively:

  • Next secondary subtitle file H
  • Previous secondary subtitle file Shift+H

Implementing this will help people that use the keyboard and use dual subtitles.

Alternative behavior of the wanted feature

This is currently not implemented. Note that other keyboard shortcuts related to subtitles do support a version for primary and secondary subtitles such as:

  • G-S and G-Shift+S on subtitle selection (visibility)
  • V and Alt+V on subtitle visibility (selection)

Implementing this is a trivial change, however documentation also needs to be updated.
