Applet
desaturate-all@hkoosha
Description
When using the desaturate-all applet on Brave Browser, the desaturate effect is not applied to the content (links/hyperlinks) inside bookmark folders. The rest of the browser window desaturates correctly — only the items rendered inside an open bookmark folder/dropdown remain in full color.
Steps to Reproduce
- Enable the
desaturate-all applet in Cinnamon.
- Open Brave Browser.
- Click on a bookmarks folder in the bookmarks bar (or the bookmarks menu) to expand it and see the list of hyperlinks inside.
- Observe that the links inside the folder remain in full color, while the rest of the browser is desaturated.
Expected Behavior
All content visible in the Brave browser window — including links inside open bookmark folders — should be desaturated consistently.
Actual Behavior
Links/hyperlinks rendered inside bookmark folders are not affected by the desaturate effect. The rest of the browser UI is desaturated as expected.
Environment
- Desktop: Cinnamon (Linux)
- Browser: Brave
- Applet:
desaturate-all@hkoosha
Additional Notes
This may be related to how Brave renders bookmark folder dropdowns (possibly as a separate overlay/surface or out-of-process window), which could prevent the applet's effect from being applied to that specific element.
