The fit action (triggered for example via the "Text selects Diagram" option for editor-diagram synchronization) centers the element, scales it to the viewport, but limits the zoom to 1. For us, the fit action should be overwritten to incorporate the current total zoom level of the element and set that as the zoom limit, so that the viewport pans and zooms into the element that should be fitted correctly.
