PlayStation 2 IR Sensor Information Not Accurate #431
Description
In the PlayStation 2 article, section 7.2.2 states that the "slim" model (SCPH-70000-series) was the first model to introduce the built-in infrared sensor. This is not correct as the original ("fat") SCPH-50000-series model (final "fat" model before "slim" was released) was the first to introduce this. I currently have 2 such models (Satin Silver (SCPH-50002) and Aqua Blue (SCPH-50003)) which indeed have a built-in infrared sensor; I previously had a standard black SCPH-50003 model which also had a built-in infrared sensor.
The infrared sensor is practically impossible to spot on the black models; it was the Satin Silver model which made it known to me. The sensor is between the power and eject buttons, in line with the disc tray. It has a transparent-black colour, which is what makes it difficult to see when compared to black <SCPH-50000-series models.
