getListing sometimes returns outdated values

I'm helping a customer who is seeing outdated data in our app, checked by calling the API directly and observing that the listing information we get from the API does not match what's on etsy.com...

Only way we found to invalidate this cached data was for the customer to update something on etsy.com.

I don't know how often this happens. Anybody else encountering this issue? Is Etsy aware this can happen?
