Reproduction:

1. Take The Sword of Truth
2. Insert The Sword of Truth into Pedestal
3. Check Tool Health of The Sword
4. See 999.2
5. Repeat as much as you like each time reducing Sword's health by 0.8

I mean, I imagine there is some wear and tear included.
Just give it the necessary ritual maintenance. It's not unbreakable, after all. Respect the blade.
