Expose e-mail address components

Can we get the user and the domain from the e-mail address parser? Maybe add data fields to the struct valid_mail_t.

I think the benefit would be great without major effort.

the idea is interesting, but there is no big complexity behind that - after all, e-mail addresses are user @ domain...?

I was not entirely sure about the complexity. In that case, the feature request could be reconsidered.

Personally, I am still in favour of the proposal as validation and the parsing of components is tightly coupled for me. Moreover, it would remove possible uncertainties in depending code. For example, splitting by character "@" cannot be expected to work exactly the same by every split function. Next, it would simplify source code. No need to call a split function and process the additional result.

Think of the usage. How often is an e-mail address validated where the individual components are needed? For me, it is rather often. Example given, when sending e-mails, the target server needs to be extracted from the address.

After careful consideration:

I think that this is a job for a different library. Do you know any C? I think this might be worth a collaborative attempt. Rough idea: Take some of libvldmail's "valid local part" validation and all of libvldmail's "valid domain part" validation and wcscat them.

I do not think that maintaining a discrete library for that sole purpose is justified. It should be integrated into an existing one especially because not much more source code is expected.

My proposal is to expand the struct valid_mail_t by the two data fields. It would be very fitting for the use case of this library as explained in #5 (comment).
