Question: is sh script deprecated?

It seems the tool evolved to something else already, though it is stated here https://cetteup.com/200/how-to-set-up-fully-dynamic-ipv6-remote-access-with-plex/ that it is an sh script.
The sh script in question has not been updated for 4 years

And looking through this script i fail to see any web requests functionality.
So i dont get it, is it still the sh script or the binary form releases?

Hi @journeym. The bash script is not deprecated per-se. It still works and can be used.

However, the approach used by the script (directly editing the config file, then restarting Plex) is rather invasive - especially if the script runs while people are using the Plex instance. To make the tool work without having to restart Plex, I re-wrote it in Go (using the Plex API to make change instead of editing the config). The Windows/macOS/Linux binaries you see in the recent releases are compiled from the the Go code.
