So I noticed a lot of unresolved when scanning from Simkl to Emby (watch history). Let me know if you want me to provide the log of it.

Okay, so I did a test and it does not sync anime movies at all a few that I tested was:
Your name.
Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection "F"
Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods
A Silent Voice

Not a big deal but I did notice that since in Simkl they are under anime and not movies.

All good. That was major task that I am still testing but it seems like it is working like it should other than a few anime that I am finding that aren't marked as watch but not a big deal. I am happy overall with how it is reacting.

Not a big deal but I did notice that since in Simkl they are under anime and not movies.

I made a few changes that should improve how anime movies are resolved.
The easiest way to test is via Watchlist (because testing History and Ratings is… shitty). Just add an anime movie to your SIMKL Plan To Watch list and run a sync. If the item shows up on your media server, it worked. Ratings and History use the same matching logic.
Note that you must have the item also on your media server!

This should produce better results for Emby and Jellyfin (assuming the title exists in your library). Plex relies heavily on discovery services, and anime matching there is still somewhat limited.

If you don’t have time to test, no worrie,s, zero obligation.

Simkl primarily uses AniDB for anime. I noticed that if you take a show like 86: Eighty Six which is listed as one season on TVDB/TMDB it does not correctly sync episode 12 and onward since they're technically considered part of the second season on Simkl.

The core problem is mapping IDs from source to destination. Anime IDs (MAL/AniList/etc.) aren’t recognized by Plex, Emby, or Jellyfin, and there’s only so much I can do without killing external APIs into the ground. It’s even harder because CrossWatch is provider-agnostic meanin it has to work across different media servers and trackers.

Example: Plex to AniList works fine because I can translate Plex metadata into AniList IDs.
But AniList yo Plex will always breaks for new items, because AniList provides MAL/AniList IDs, and Plex can’t do anything with those.

It’s a messy problem, and the only real fix is for Plex, Emby, Jellyfin (and similar platforms) to natively support anime IDs.
Without that, I’m stuck with tweaking and workarounds to make it behave.. ... it is what it is.
