Faders cannot be automated with Calf LV2 plugins

Hi,
running Calf plugin host, I can automate fader movements in, e.g., 5 Band Equalizer by sending Controller events to Calf host "Automation MIDI in" input and then right click on the fader, pot etc. control element. I can remote control these from Virtual keyboard, Muse4 etc. This works perfectly.

But as soon as I load Calf lv2 plugins into Carla, Muse4 etc., there is no "Automation MIDI in" any more, I see only "events in".
This one works for MIDI notes but a right click on any control element in Calf lv2 plugins only shows up a toolhelp-like message "Send cc to automate", but nothing happens and no choice to couple CC number and fader. Hence, in Calf lv2 plugins there is no automation possible.

Can someone please tell me, if

• lv2 plugins in general can support (fader) automation at all?
• what could be wrong in my config, so that this does not work?
• any further ideas?

Which versions did you test? And do you remember if it worked previously?

Hi Johannes,

I tested on calf-0.90.3-5.mga9 / lv2-calf-plugins-0.90.3-5.mga9 on intel platform, as well as a former version on raspberry.
So, I assume, receiving controller data never worked in calf as a lv2 plugin.

When I raised a ticket against Mageia's calf packages, see above, I recorded a video which shows the issue in detail:

In my understanding, the lv2 plugins are not accepting incoming controller values, because
the interface names don't fit together. See video.
