glass and curved surfaces in laserGRBL

Can you engrave curved surfaces on glass in Laser GRLB. I dont mean round, just a curved surface. I am very new to Laser engraving. My goal is to engrave designs onto old Beer and Wine bottles. But I am currently starting out on only curved surfaces such as Ball quart canning jars. They have a relatively flat surface that falls away on the sides.

Hey! LaserGRBL is mainly a 2D controller. For curved objects like bottles you can:

• Use a rotary attachment (4th axis). Enable Rotary mode in Settings, configure steps per degree. Use a chuck to hold the bottle.
• • For simple cylinders, wrap design by scaling Y to circumference.
• • For non-cylindrical curves you need 3D G-code (LaserGRBL does not support this). Use CAM software to project image onto mesh and export layered G-code.
• • Alternatively rig a jig that rotates bottle while keeping laser focused, and export design as a heightmap.
    Most beginners start with a rotary axis; check the Wiki for examples. Good luck!

Thanx for that. I am totally new at this, Like I opened the box yesterday. I had thought that I read or saw a video that curved surfaces could be done. I do have a rotary platform, just haven't got the nerve to hook kit up yet. Seams simple enough, but in the past for me gets me in trouble. Thanx for the reply.
