Description

Feature Request

A useful enhancement would be a progress panel on the right side of the chat, similar to how progress is shown in OpenCode or Codex.

Idea

Display the current task progress in a dedicated panel on the right side, for example as a short step list such as:

  • Extract PDF text and structure data
  • Build XLSX with outputs, summary, and validation
  • Check formulas, totals, VAT consistency, and duplicates
  • Provide final file

Expected Behavior

  • The assistant can show the current work stages in a compact progress view
  • The panel is visible on the right side while the task is running
  • Users can quickly understand what has already been done and what is still in progress
  • Ideally, completed steps, current step, and pending steps are visually distinguishable

Why

  • Improves transparency during longer tasks
  • Helps users understand what the system is currently doing
  • Makes the interface feel more structured and trustworthy
  • Brings OpenGUI closer to the workflow experience of OpenCode and Codex

Possible UX Details

  • Right-hand side floating or docked progress card
  • Simple checklist or timeline-style step display
  • Optional collapse/expand behavior
  • Only shown for tasks complex enough to benefit from progress tracking

Environment

  • OpenGUI Desktop Interface
