Feature Request
A useful enhancement would be a progress panel on the right side of the chat, similar to how progress is shown in OpenCode or Codex.
Idea
Display the current task progress in a dedicated panel on the right side, for example as a short step list such as:
- Extract PDF text and structure data
- Build XLSX with outputs, summary, and validation
- Check formulas, totals, VAT consistency, and duplicates
- Provide final file
Expected Behavior
- The assistant can show the current work stages in a compact progress view
- The panel is visible on the right side while the task is running
- Users can quickly understand what has already been done and what is still in progress
- Ideally, completed steps, current step, and pending steps are visually distinguishable
Why
- Improves transparency during longer tasks
- Helps users understand what the system is currently doing
- Makes the interface feel more structured and trustworthy
- Brings OpenGUI closer to the workflow experience of OpenCode and Codex
Possible UX Details
- Right-hand side floating or docked progress card
- Simple checklist or timeline-style step display
- Optional collapse/expand behavior
- Only shown for tasks complex enough to benefit from progress tracking
Environment
- OpenGUI Desktop Interface
