Minor design issue regarding U+7DF5 (緵) in TW glyph

In version 2.000 and later, U+7DF5 (緵) in the TW glyph is incorrectly designed.
In TW, this part has a protruding shape.
This is clearly stated in the official Taiwanese education ministry’s documents, and is an inconsistent design with other ideograms that have similar parts.

U+7DF5 緵 is not included in Big5 but in HKSCS, so the font is using the HK version as the fallback, which is why its form differs from the TW standard design.

Quote from P.18 of the font README, ”the scope of Traditional Chinese for Taiwan is limited to Big Five (equivalent to CNS 11643 Planes 1 and 2), and the glyphs mostly adhere to the Taiwan MOE (Ministry of Education) glyph standard. Any CJK Unified Ideograph code point that is outside the scope of Big Five is not likely to display appropriately for Traditional Chinese (Taiwan) use.”

Thank you for pointing out the reason why this happens.

U+7DF5 is indeed a character that is not included in Big5.
However, this is included in the Chart of Standard Forms of Less-Than-Common National Characters (次常用國字標準字體表) published by the Taiwan MOE.

As far as I could tell, there were 10 ideograms that fit this situation, and four of them, including U+7DF5, requires the addition of new glyphs.
Although it would deviate from the defined scope of coverage, I believe it is realistically possible to fix these four.

Source Han fonts already includes 11,127 characters out of a total of 11,137 characters, including Common and Less-Than-Common ideograms, so I think it’s worth considering a fix.
