App Mode wasn't detected in Desktop despite installed on my phone

🐞 Describe the Bug

I was hoping to use the APP Tools/Companion Service, but I can't access my phone via App Mode despite the Android version and Desktop version is already installed the latest version. The Desktop App also can't detect if the Android App version is installed or not.

🔁 Steps to Reproduce

1. Add New Device
2. Choose connection type USB Only
3. Start connection process
4. Go back to dashboard/main menu
5. Try using APP Tools or

✔️ Expected Behavior

Cmiiw, but I expect to able to use the App Mode just like in the documentation without any network, bcs again, I already installed both the Desktop and App version.

📝 Additional Context

Fyi, my phone is using Custom ROM from Havoc OS, Android 13. And then the screen is fkup, I drop the phone into a puddle full of water while doing some chores, phone is still working, but the screen isn't. So please guide or help me, I really love this app bcs my phone is fkup and screen replacement is expensive. I've been using Scrcpy for the past years and this ADB Device Manager seems to provide more function that I really love.

Ok 👍

You are running Android Dex, but ADB Device Manager app is not running on your phone.

👉 You need 2 apps on Android:

• ADB Device Manager (required for connection)
• Android Dex (for App Mode UI)

Right now:

• Dex is running ✅
• ADB Device Manager is NOT running ❌

So desktop can’t detect your phone and App Mode won’t work.

👉 Fix:
Open ADB Device Manager app on your phone and keep it running.

There are 3 apps:

• ADB Device Manager Installer (install only)
• ADB Device Manager (main app – required)
• Android Dex (Dex UI)

👉 Dex alone is not enough.

Thanks for the response. That mistake is mine.

But still... even after Installing the ADP Device Manager App, I still have the same issue, the desktop app still can't find the android app.

And also, I notice when starting the ADB Device Manager android app, right of the bat there's a pop-up that says Socket Connection Failed.

Ohh yes yes I know that.... You try with USB .... That's why ... In
.ADB device manager have bug that will fix but not released it it tack time

For now you can use a Wi-Fi mode not usb ... That will fix APP
