Playback controls not available when playing something on a browser

Using latest brave browser, when playing a youtube or any other media player, it'd be cool if the playback controls popped up in the island. Similar to how playback settings work for Spotify, or any other music streaming platform.

@suleman1412 you can enable Now Playing in the Media controls to resolve this issue

@suleman1412 ideally a quick restart of Atoll should fix this issue. I've tried to replicate this using a Sequoia VM and it is detecting the Now Playing. We'll try to look if other people are facing the same issue

I have the same issue on MacOS Tahoe 26.4, but restarting the application fixes it.

i restarted the application yesterday- and today when i opened my laptop, it all of a sudden didn't have the option for "Now Playing" and I had to restart it again. is there a way to resolve this?

Hi @prdai the Now Playing test script runs a Perl Script for checking whether Now Playing is supported on the Mac. This method generally works, but on some devices it gives true negatives. The only way to resolve it right now is to try restarting Atoll
