Wikipedia libraries not downloading

Hey I finally got it set up and seems to be working good but the wikipedia libraries won't download. I get a "download failed, request failed with status code 404". It doesn't matter which option I pick for it. Anyone else have this issue? Everything else downloaded fine.

This is a known issue. Some of the Wikipedia ZIM file URLs on the Kiwix mirrors have changed, so NOMAD is requesting files that no longer exist at those URLs. It's been reported and is on the radar for a fix.

In the meantime, everything else (content libraries, AI, maps, education) should work fine. The Wikipedia downloads will start working once the URLs are updated in a future release.

Is there a way to force stop the downloads? Both the wikipedia_en_all_maxi_2026-02.zim and the electronics.stackexchange.com_en_all_2026-02.zim files stall. This screenshot is from almost 24-hours of downloading.

The incomplete downloads prevent the Kiwix server from starting, at least on my end.

Delete that zim file from the Content Manager. I had to delete probably 15 files before the server would stay running.

Where are these files saved temporarily if the UI still says it is downloading but the file does not exist in '/opt/project-nomad/storage/zim'? And if the answer is in that directiory, why would it think it's still downloading something when the file does not exist?

After many attempts, I ended up manually downloaded the full Wikipedia. The storage location you mentioned is correct. Even though I was using the Delete button in the Content Manager it was not actually deleting partially downloaded files. I had to manually do this from the CLI. Then I used wget to manually download the zim...
sudo wget https://mirrors.dotsrc.org/kiwix/zim/wikipedia/wikipedia_en_all_maxi_2026-02.zim

Restarted Kiwix and everything was good to go.

are there any torrents of the maxi wikipedia zim file?
it keeps timing out in nomad.
tried manually downloading it with the same issue.

if there was a torrent, i'm pretty sure it would finish
