Contributing Guidelines

Thank you for your interest in contributing to Cervantes! To ensure a smooth collaboration process, please read and follow these guidelines before submitting your contribution.

────────────────────────────

1. How to Contribute

  • Fork the repository and create a pull request that includes a detailed description of your changes.
  • Keep your changes small: smaller changesets are easier to review and, therefore, more likely to be accepted. This applies to both code and documentation.
  • Make sure your changes adhere to the coding and documentation standards defined in the project.

────────────────────────────

2. Submission Warranty and Ownership Declaration

By submitting a contribution to this project, you confirm and guarantee that:

  • The code and/or documentation you are contributing is either of your own creation or you have the rights and necessary permissions (including all relevant licenses) to submit it.
  • Your contribution does not violate the intellectual property rights or any other rights of third parties (including copyrights, trademarks, or patents).
  • Your contribution does not contain code licensed under terms that conflict with the project's AGPL license. If third-party code is included, you have verified that it is compatible with relicensing under the AGPL.

────────────────────────────

3. Acceptance of License

  • By submitting a contribution, you expressly agree that your contribution will be integrated into the project and published under the terms of the AGPL license.
  • This means that once your contribution is merged, it becomes subject to the same AGPL licensing terms as the rest of the project.

────────────────────────────

4. Disclaimer and Liability Limitation

  • Contributions are made voluntarily and provided "as is" without any warranty or guarantee of any kind.
  • The project maintainers and core contributors are not responsible for any legal, technical, or other issues that may arise from the use of the contributed code.
  • Please be aware that, while we review contributions to the best of our abilities, we do not perform a comprehensive legal review of each submission. We rely on contributors to ensure their submissions abide by all relevant legal requirements.

────────────────────────────

  • By submitting a contribution, you acknowledge that you have read and agree to these guidelines.
  • We appreciate your efforts in helping to improve this project and look forward to your contributions.
